How to grill the perfect crispy, tender chicken wings

To get the perfectly grilled chicken wings, you need to start with the prep work.

In a large bowl, toss the chicken wings in olive oil and season them with lemon pepper seasoning. Toss them around to make sure each piece is nicely seasoned.

Heat up the grill to 350 degrees and set for indirect heat. Arrange the wings directly on the grate, making sure to leave some space between each one. Cook the wings for 40-45 minutes, flipping halfway through, until the internal temperature reaches 185 degrees.

How to make the Lemon Garlic Sauce

While the wings are on the grill, it’s time to make the sauce.  In a sauce pan add a stick of butter⁣, minced garlic, freshly squeezed lemon juice, lemon zest, honey, lemon pepper seasoning and chopped parsley⁣. Let the ingredients simmer over low heat for 5 minutes allowing the butter to melt and mix nicely together for that perfect sauce. Trust me, you’ll be salivating before this recipe is ready!

Sauce up the lemon garlic chicken wings!

Time to toss the wings in your special sauce!  When the wings are cooked, place them in a large bowl and toss with that delicious, fragrant sauce. Make sure to coat all the wings around on all sides for maximum flavor.

Top off the lemon garlic chicken wings with freshly shredded parmesan cheese and more chopped parsley. Serve and enjoy!

Lemon Garlic Chicken Wings

Servings: 4 People

Ingredients 

  • 2 lbs Chicken wings
  • 1 stick Unsalted butter
  • 2 tbsp Lemon pepper seasoning
  • 1 tbsp Minced garlic
  • 2 tbsp Honey
  • 1/4 cup Chopped parsley
  • Juice from 2 lemons
  • Zest from 1 lemon

Instructions 

  • In a large bowl, toss the chicken wing in olive oil and season them with lemon pepper seasoning.
  • Preheat the grill to 350 degrees and set it for indirect heat.
  • Arrange the wings directly on the grate, making sure to leave space between each one. Cook for 40-45 minutes, flipping halfway through, until the wings reach an internal temperature of 185 degrees.
  • In a sauce pan add a stick of butter⁣, minced garlic, freshly squeezed lemon juice, lemon zest, honey, lemon pepper seasoning and chopped parsley⁣.
  • Bring to a simmer over low heat and simmer for 5 minutes.
  • When the wings are cooked, place them in a large bowl and toss with that delicious, fragrant sauce.
  • Plate the wings and finish with grated parmesan cheese and chopped parsley. Serve and enjoy!

Notes

Cook chicken wings at a higher temperature to get a crispy skin. I like the range of 350-375 degrees. 
Simmer the sauce over low heat and just long enough to melt the butter and mix all the ingredients together.
