Ingredient List for the Maple Bourbon and Bacon Dip
- Cream cheese: creamy base for the the dip.
- Butter: adds richness to the recipe.
- Maple syrup: use natural maple syrup and not the breakfast kind.
- Brown sugar: adds a caramel flavor to the dip.
- Powdered sugar: provides sweetness and smooth consistency.
- Bacon: grilled and candied strips for a savory and salty crunch.
- Seasoning: I used maple bourbon seasoning to add more of that savory taste and counterbalance the sweetness of the sugar.
Crisp up the bacon
The only ingredient that needs to be cooked in this Maple Bourbon and Bacon Dip is the bacon.
Not only did I crisp it up on the grill, but I candied it as well.
For this recipe, I used a thick but bacon. It has more meat and adds more chew in the dip.
Start by laying down a few strips of bacon on a wire rack. Brush a thin layer of pure maple syrup on each strip and season with a maple bourbon rub.
Preheat the grill to a medium 350 heat and cook until the bacon is crispy.
Recipe Tip
Don’t have a grill or don’t want to heat it up, crisp up the bacon in the microwave, air fryer or oven.
Let’s make a Maple Bourbon and Bacon Dip
This dip has the perfect balance of sweet and salty. It can be enjoyed as a desert, served as an appetizer or both! Who cares! It’s so good, you’ll want to eat it all day long.
In a mixing bowl, add room temperature cream cheese and butter, powdered sugar, maple syrup, brown sugar and Dad’s Maple Bourbon seasoning to balance all the sweetness.
Recipe Tip
It’s very important that the butter is room temperature or the dip can come out lumpy.
With a mixer, mix the ingredients together until you get a smooth creamy texture.
Next, cut up the candied bacon into small pieces. Drop 3/4 of it in the dip and mix it in with a spoon. Use the remaining bacon to decorate the top and serve with Biscoff biscuits or sliced fruit. Enjoy!
How to store the dip.
If you are making this dip in advance, make sure to keep it in the fridge covered. Before serving, let it get to room temperature before serving.

Frequently Asked Questions:
Pure or real maple syrup is labeled as Grade A or Maple Syrup and uses maple sugar as an ingredient. The breakfast syrups are not made with pure maple syrup. Those contain high fructose corn syrup and other artificial flavorings.
Depending on the type of dip you are serving, usually veggies like celery, carrots and bell pepper strips are perfect dipping options. Also small toasts, crackers or biscuits are great alternatives.
