These grilled honey mustard chicken tenders are a great way to change up the same old boring recipes with a little sweet and savoriness.  The tender chicken and flavorful marinade create a delicious meal everyone will enjoy. Fast and easy, this is a must have recipe for back to school.

Step 1: How to make the best honey mustard marinade.

Honey mustard chicken ingredients

Simple ingredients make for the best marinade.  No need to overcomplicate things.  Also, this is a great step to prep the night before and just throw on the grill the next day.

In a mixing bowl, add dijon mustard, honey, minced garlic, freshly squeezed lemon juice and Dad’s All Purpose rub. Whisk the ingredients together and set aside.

For this recipe, I decided to go with chicken tenders.  This is a different from my usual chicken thighs, but wanted to make something different for the kids.

Honey mustard marinade

Place the chicken tenders in a ziplock bag and pour 3/4 of the honey mustard marinade over the chicken.  Make sure to get a good cover all throughout squeezing the air out of the bag.  Place the bag in the fridge for at least 1 hour allowing the meat to absorb all those delicious flavors from the marinade.

Dad’s Seasonings

Must have grillin seasonings!

Step 2: Time to grill up the chicken.

Grilled chicken tenders

Preheat the grill to high direct heat.  Place the marinade honey mustard chicken tenders on the grates and grill about 3 -4 minutes per side.  Once the internal temperature reaches 165 degrees, remove this off the grill and let them rest for 5 minutes.

Before serving, pour the remaining marinate over the grilled honey mustard chicken, sprinkle some chopped parsley and enjoy!

Frequently Asked Questions:

What cut of steak should I use?

Type of steak depends on what you are trying to grill up. For hot and fast look for cuts with good marbling like a ribeye or NY strip. If you are cooking a roast or stew, look for cuts that are cheaper and meatier like a chuck roast.

Can I make this in the oven stove top?

All my recipes can be replicated in the oven, stove top or gas grill. You do not need a big green egg or weber grill to replicate any of my recipes.
