These honey and ginger glazed beef skewers are the perfect quick solution for a delicious weeknight dinner.  Serve it over rice or just eat it off the stick, this delicious treat is sure to please everyone in the family. I chose a less expensive cut of meat for this recipe.  It’s tougher than a NY strip or Ribeye which makes it perfect for marinades or glazes.  It would also be a shame to smother a sweet glaze of a high quality cut. While an economical meal, this dish is full of amazing flavors and tender meat making it a mouth watering treat.

Prep the sirloin beef skewers

Before getting the skewers on the grill, you need to cube up and season the meat.  The reason for cutting up the meat into smaller bite size cubes is because of its toughness.  Small sizes make the meat more tender and easy to chew.

Cut the sirloin beef steak into 1 inch cubes.  Season with soy sauce and ground pepper.  Mix the cubes into the seasoning to ensure an even coat throughout.

Next, skewer 7-9 beef cubes onto a skewer and these are ready to hit the grill.

Side note: if using  wooden skewers, soak them in water so they can absorb the moisture and not burn during the cooking process.  I recommend using metal skewers.  They are reusable and durable.

How to make homemade honey and ginger glaze.

Before grilling the beef, quickly make your honey and ginger glaze.  In a sauce pan add honey, minced ginger, Tabasco Sriracha Sauce, rice vinegar and soy sauce.  Simmer over low-med heat making sure to continuously whisk as the sauce thickens.

Time to grill beef skewers

Set the grill to high direct heat at 450 degrees and place the beef skewers on the grill.  Flip every minute for a total of 5 minutes or until the meat reaches 130 degrees internal temp.  At the end, brush the honey and ginger glaze over the beef skewers before removing them off the grill.

Sprinkle some roasted sesame seeds and freshly chopped green onions over the honey and ginger beef skewers and serve.  Enjoy!
