If you’re looking for something easy and delicious, then look no further then this recipe for bbq bacon wrapped shrimp It’s super easy to put together and comes out delicious! With 4 simple ingredients this is the perfect party appetizer everyone will enjoy!

Step 1: Wrap the shrimp.

For this recipe we’ll be using jumbo, peeled and deveined shrimp and thinner cut bacon slices. Since shrimp cooks very fast and bacon takes a little longer, we have to use bigger sized shrimp and thinner bacon in order for everything to cook at the same time.

Start by cutting the ends the bacon and wrap each peeled shrimp. I like to leave the tails on, making a built in handle for the shrimp. Season with Dad’s All Purpose rub on all sides.  If you are having a hard time with the bacon staying wrapped around the shrimp, use a toothpick to help hold the bacon in place.

Step 2: Grill the bacon wrapped shrimp.

Fire up the grill and set it up for indirect grilling. I like the temp to be around 350 degrees. Place the bacon wrapped shrimp directly on the grate. Total grill should be 15-20 minutes depending on the size of the shrimp. Do not worry about over cooking the shrimp.  I know, it seems long, but the indirect method and the moisture from the bacon will keep the shrimp perfectly tender. Just before removing the shrimp off the grill, brush with your choice of BBQ sauce and allow it to caramelize around the bacon.

Recipe Tip

  • Grill on indirect heat to avoid the bacon from burning.
  • Use thin cut bacon to allow even cooking with the jumbo shrimp.
