Next, slice up bacon strips into 2 equal pieces. Wrap the small strip of bacon around each chicken nugget and skewer a row.
Preheat the grill to 350 degrees and set it for indirect heat. Place the loaded skewers on the grates and grill for 30 minutes or until the chicken reaches an internal temp of 165 degrees.
Brush the skewers with BBQ sauce and continue cooking until the internal temperature reaches 175 degrees Fahrenheit.
Rest 5-10 minutes before serving.

Replace chicken thighs with chicken breast for a leaner option.Use thin cut bacon. Thicker slices will take much longer to cook risking overcooking the chicken. Removing them too early will result in chewy bacon.If you are using wooden skewers, soak them in water for about 30 minutes before skewering them. This will allow the sticks to absorb enough water to help withstand the direct heat from the grill.If you are using a store bought sauce, warm in up in a saucepan or in the microwave before brushing on. It loosens the sauce making it easier to brush on.
