Take 1/4 lbs. piece of beef and shape it into a flat round patty and season all sides with Dad's All Purpose rub.
Preheat the grill to 400 degrees and set for dual zone grilling.
First, place the bacon on the indirect side of the grill to crisp up. Flip once the bottom is crispy and dark brown in color.
Place patties on the direct heat and get a nice sear around. This will take about 4 minutes per side. Move them to the indirect side and place a slice of american cheese on each. Cook until the internal temperature of the beef reaches 35 degrees.
For the burger sauce, in a mixing bowl, add ketchup, mayo, mustard, relish and Dad'sAll Purpose rub. Mix the ingredients together.
