Ingredients

4 Mild Italian Sausage
8 oz Cream Cheese
1/4 cup Shredded Cheddar Cheese
2 tbsp Mild Giardiniera
1.5 tbsp Dad's All Purpose Rub

Instructions

Split down the middle if the sausage link without cutting all the way through. Shape each sausage into a boat like form.
For the filling I used a block of cream cheese, mild giardiniera, shredded cheddar cheese and Dad's All Purpose Rub. Mix the ingredient together to form a creamy texture.
Fill the sausage boats with about 2 tablespoons of the cheesy mixture, more shredded cheddar cheese and top with another dash of seasoning. Place them on a wire rack.
Preheat the grill to 300 degrees and set for indirect heat.
Grill for about 20 minutes.

Notes

If you like spicy foods and are not afraid of heat, use hot italian sausage for the boats.

Make the boats on the grill. It adds a nice layer of smokiness.

Add flavor with different cheese varieties. Don’t be scared of the smelly ones.

Do NOT season the bacon with any spices. This is a very savory dish from the cheese and seasoning. Any more, and it will be too salty

Replace giardiniera with freshly chopped jalapenos for that extra kick and crunch.
